CRMR DISCIPLES WOMEN
Our purpose is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ and to provide a channel through which women in the congregation and the regional Women’s Ministries in the United States and Canada may be joined in fellowship and find means for effective participation in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Human Trafficking
The women of the region are asked to continue to support the Human Trafficking: Social Action Emphasis of the IDWM for 2014 to 2018. We need to be more aware that human trafficking is happening within our communities and not just in other countries of the world. Now it is time for action! We are asking each congregation to find an organization to support. There is a lot of information on this page to help those of us who are modern day abolitionists.
We want to focus on three areas of human trafficking, three links of the chain:
Chain Link 1. Sex trafficking, our focus is on women, men, boys and especially our young girls as young as 9 years of age who are being targeted by traffickers every day.
Chain Link 2. Labor trafficking/immigration with this our focus is on the labor trafficking that is at epic proportions and is closely tied to the immigration issues in this country.
Chain Link 3. Demand, our focus here is if there were no demand for sex and labor services there would be no trafficking. Decrease demand and we decrease trafficking.
Here are a few resources to help you get started.

Restore Innocence
As of November 2013 Restore Innocence has shipped over 900 Restoration Bags to the FBI and Homeland Security in over 37 states! The Restoration Bags are critical part of our outreach, as they help agents in the field build rapport with victims. (Read More Here and get list of bag items to donate)
Red Scarf Awareness of Domestic Violence
International Disciples Women Ministries want to remember all the women and children who have died because of domestic violence. We ask you to place a red scarf (or scarf with red in it) on an empty chair at all of you meetings and events in memory of all those who have died at the hands of abusers.
Blessing Box and Blessing Bag
Contributions are now accepted online via the DMF online donation system. You may make a one-time donation or schedule various recurring donation options. Be sure to select “Blessing Boxes” in the ‘Select Designation’ option.
