Néstor Gómez has accepted the call to serve First Christian Church and Primera Iglesia Cristiana Hispana in Salida, Colo., as transitional minister. He began his work with the congregation on July 1. His ministry follows Daphne Arias Salcedo.
Néstor was born in Medellín, Colombia, the middle son of three boys and a girl. He brings over 12 years pastoral experience to his ministry in Salida. He was ordained by the Evangelical Church Alliance and served for four years as an associate pastor at Tabernáculo de Restoración in Aurora, Colo. He is currently completing his Ph.D. at Iliff School of Theology.
Néstor is passionate about addressing issues confronting marginalized communities and advocating for social justice. He likes to dance salsa, bachata, and merengue. He enjoys sharing with people of all ages and cultures, reading books, and riding his bike. He loves Jesus Christ, and he also loves Mexican bread!
