Our purpose is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ and to provide a channel through which women in the congregation and the regional Women’s Ministries in the United States and Canada may be joined in fellowship and find means for effective participation in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Women’s Renewal Conference
Save the Date! September 16-18, 2016
Dear Sisters in Christ,
The women of First Christian Church, Colorado Springs, would like to invite you to consider helping us connect and re-connect the women of the Central Rocky Mountain Region by attending this year’s women’s renewal/retreat on the beautiful and inspiring grounds of Glen Eyrie Castle near Garden of the Gods. These beautiful grounds are surrounded by awe-inspiring red rock formations making it the ideal “get-away” without being too isolated from civilization. As many of you know, Quadrennial (Disciple Women’s 4-year convention) has been discontinued making it even more important for us to connect at the regional level to support and encourage one another as sisters in the Body of Christ
We have seen a decline in the number of attendees … (read the rest here Renewal Cover Letter 2016)
Wild Women of the West Inter-Regional Save the Date
Save the Date for an Inter-Regional Women’s Event: Wild Women of the West CONNECT held on May 5-7, 2017. Disciples Women from Montana, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, California, and Arizona will all come together in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area for connection, fellowship, worship and Bible Study. If you are missing the former Quadrennial Assembly, then this is for you! The event will feature international guests, outstanding keynote addresses and an assembly of diverse women. Your planning team is working diligently now to secure scholarships to keep costs low – and we know already that the Spirit is working to make this a dynamic event. Put it on your calendars now.
The women of the region are asked to continue to support the Human Trafficking: Social Action Emphasis of the IDWM for 2014 to 2018. We need to be more aware that human trafficking is happening within our communities and not just in other countries of the world. Now it is time for action! We are asking each congregation to find an organization to support. There is a lot of information on this page to help those of us who are modern day abolitionists.
We want to focus on three areas of human trafficking, three links of the chain:
Chain Link 1. Sex trafficking, our focus is on women, men, boys and especially our young girls as young as 9 years of age who are being targeted by traffickers every day.
Chain Link 2. Labor trafficking/immigration with this our focus is on the labor trafficking that is at epic proportions and is closely tied to the immigration issues in this country.
Chain Link 3. Demand, our focus here is if there were no demand for sex and labor services there would be no trafficking. Decrease demand and we decrease trafficking.
Here are a few resources to help you get started.
As of November 2013 Restore Innocence has shipped over 900 Restoration Bags to the FBI and Homeland Security in over 37 states! The Restoration Bags are critical part of our outreach, as they help agents in the field build rapport with victims. (Read More Here and get list of bag items to donate)
Red Scarf Awareness of Domestic Violence
International Disciples Women Ministries want to remember all the women and children who have died because of domestic violence. We ask you to place a red scarf (or scarf with red in it) on an empty chair at all of you meetings and events in memory of all those who have died at the hands of abusers.
Contributions are now accepted online via the DMF online donation system. You may make a one-time donation or schedule various recurring donation options. Be sure to select “Blessing Boxes” in the ‘Select Designation’ option.

Unto you, O God, we give our thanks and lift our hearts in prayer. May your presence be with us and your love surround us as we work together as women of faith. Open our eyes to the needs of the world and fill our hearts with concern for all people. Guide us so that we may truly serve you through Jesus, Christ, our Lord. Amen
